Chris Badenoch

Chris Badenoch could be considered to be living the great Australian bloke’s dream. He has managed to turn his obsession with meat, beer and barbecues into, not only a successful career but a much loved way of life. The runner up of ‘MasterChef All-Stars’in 2012 and the popular trilby wearing beer merchant from ‘MasterChef’ Series 1, is now the owner and cook/chef at much loved Melbourne restaurant ‘Josie Bones’. He hasreleased his own Beer ‘Boneyard Brewing’ and launched his first book ‘The Entire Beat’ with Penguin Lantern. Chrisis on a mission to spread his word on the endless possibilities of barbecuing to the Australian public.

A graphic designer in his previous life, Christ became first known to Australian audiences as a contestant with a distinct nose to tail food philosophy on Network Ten ‘MasterChef’ Series 1 contestant, Chrisserved up Duck Neck Sausage, Roasted Pigs Head and added his unique desert option, Beeramisu to our vernacular. Chris has always been well regarded by the show’s judges, industry and viewers alike for his technical cooking ability, food knowledge and clinical approach.

In 2010, as promised, he opened the doors to his boutique beer bar and restaurant ‘Josie Bones’ in Melbournewith partner Julia Jenkins. It reflects the food philosophy and beer expertness he wowed audiences with during the series. Having put his food and beer philosophy into practice, Chris has earned great respect and credibility from taking his television journey into the challenging world of restaurant ownership.

When he is not in the restaurant, Chris is brewing his own beer brand, writing a book andendorsing Primo small goods, Chris is in high demand at Food and Wine Shows, trade shows and appearances around the country.

Chris shared with the audience his passionate views on eating and drinkingand continues to spread the word with regular appearances around the country. Namely that you can eat and drink exceedingly well without paying a King’s ransom.He demonstrated to a doubting public just how exceptional an ingredient beer can be and introduced many new people to the booming craft beer scene in Australia.

His wit and dark sense of humourcommunicate his thoughts on a cuisine that he is passionate about sharing. Slightly off beat, unconventional and irreverent, tattooed and be-hatted, Chris is always entertaining and his passion for what he does is infectious. Chris recently became engaged to partner in life and business, Julia Jenkins, whom he met on ‘MasterChef’ Series 1.
